Ghotpadi village is located at about 27 km from Lok Biradari Prakalp. We offered to excavate a lake after a request from the villagers. But, just like our other lake projects, we asked for an agreement from Gramsabha which should have following commitments.
- No Alcohol
- No Tobacco
- Save Trees
- Educate each child
- No hunting and save wild animals
- Dispute free village
On receipt of the agreement, the work started in February 2019. The budget was approximately Rs. 10.5 lakh. One lakh rupees were collected from the village so they get a sense of ownership. It took around 15-20 days for completion.
The lake dimensions are 100 x 50 meters and it's 3 meters deep. The storage capacity is around 15,000 cubic meter.
