        Pune Exhibition - December - 2007

 

        Lok Biradari Photo and Bamboo craft exhibition took place at Balgandharva Kala Dalan in Pune city during 22nd to 25th December 2007 for acquaint the common people of Pune regarding various activities of this project. 

        First time an effort of Lok Biradari Prakalp to reach to the people which will help understand about the project. Mr. Aniket Amte, Administrator of  Lok Biradari Prakalp and organizer of the exhibition had been in Pune before the exhibition when he conducted the meetings with volunteers, conducted sessions for the college students, had meetings with press etc. which could help in conveying about the exhibition to the masses. 8 volunteers from Hemalkasa accompanied Mr. Aniket Amte to Pune for the exhibition. 

        Total 138 photos of various aspects of the project like life of Madia and Gond Tribal in Hemalkasa, Lok Biradari hospital, Lok Biradari Ashram Shala, Amte’s Animal Ark were displayed.

Nearly 20 types of bamboo articles were displayed and were available for sale in the exhibition.
Eminent actor Dr. Shreeram Lagoo inaugurated the exhibition.

        Around 3500-4000 people in the city visited the exhibition which included range of people from various age groups, various education backgrounds, various professions, and various social and economic backgrounds in the city.

        Bamboo craft articles, books like Negal & Samidha, CDs on Lok Biradari Prakalp were liked a lot by people and this got reflected in buying those.  Film actress Varsha Usgaonkar visited the exhibition during the interval of her show in Balgandharva Ranga Mandir.

            As an outcome of the exhibition a group of people who are willing to support Lok Biradari Prakalp from Pune have come together with the initiative from Mr. Aniket Amte to form “Lok Biradari Mitra Mandal”.  Approximately 300 people from various age groups, from various streams of work, from various streams of education have become members of it. The meetings of the group will take place every month.  Presently 6 meetings have taken place.  Members have started contributing and collecting money for supporting of education of children in Lok Biradari Ashram Shala.  Members are approaching IT companies, schools, colleges to reach to people for their contribution to Lok Biradari Prakalp.
